Framed?

Elizabeth and Jessica Wakefield are witnesses to an armed robery! Though the crook was disguised as a clown, all evidence points to Joe Carrey as the culprit. Elizabeth can't believe it! Joe is the ice cream scooper at Casey's, and he's one of the nicest people she's ever met. How could he do a thing like that?
Then Elizabeth investigates more deeply and finds a clue that just doesn't fit. It may be small, but it's enough to convince her that Joe Carrey is innocent. But can Elizabeth convince the jury?

Holdup at gunpoint . . .

Something glistened in the clown's outstretched hand. Something shiny.
Something - metallic.
The clown took a step forward, the shoe marked R coming dangerously near Elizabeth's head.
"No!" The clerk's voice squeaked with terror. Elizabeth felt her stomach clench. The clown was leaning forward now, his hand stretched ominously toward the clerk. And in that hand -
Elizabeth braced herself and tried desperately not to scream. In the clown's hand was a gun!
