On the outskirts of Sweet Valley sits a beautiful old Victorian house. It stood empty until a few weeks ago, when a big family moved in . . . the perfect clients for Elizabeth and Jessica's new baby-sitting service . . .
The Wakefield twin and their friends from Sweet Valley Middle School love baby-sitting for the Riccolis, until little Juliana Ricolli starts having horrible nightmares. One night she wakes up crying, saying a monster attacked her.
The twins tell her that bad dreams aren't real, but Elizabeth is secretly afraid. If the monster isn't real, why does Juliana have deep scratches on her back?
Don't go to sleep Sweet Valley . . . you may never wake up!
The gir from her nightmares . . .
A loud shreik rang out upstairs and Elizabeth jumped to her feet, her heart pounding. "What - what - was th-that?"
"I dont know!" Amy said, clutching the wool afghan blanket on her lap.
"No! Stay away!" the voice screeched.
"It's one of the kids!" Amy said, getting up quickly. "I thought it was in the movie or - "
"Tha's Juliana!" Elizabeth realized. "She's having a nightmare!" Ahe and Amy dashed into the hallway and flew up the stairs, heading straight for Juliana's bedroom. Elizabeth ran in and flipped on the overhead light.
Juliana was thrashing from side to side in her bed, the sheets and blanket a twisted tangle around her. "No! No, you can't!" she yelled.
Elizabeth ran to Juliana's side and touched her shoulder, shaking her gently. Juliana, wake up. Wake up. it's OK!"
Juliana blinked her eyes a few times and looked at Elizabeth. "Elizabeth!" she cried. "It was - it was her!" She burst into tears.
"Her?" Elizabeth suddenly remembered Juliana telling her about the monster girl, who was trying to "get" her. Apparently the same girl was still frightning Juliana in her dreams. Nut why?
