Is Sweet Valley haunted?

Strange things have been happening to Sam Sloane ever since he moved from San Fransisco to Elizabeth and Jessica Wakefield's neighbourhood in Sweet Valley. He can't figure out why everything in town looks so familiar - or why he's mysteriously drawn to a crumbling old mansion in town. When he visits a cemetary in the dead of the night and sees a ghost who looks just like him, he turns to Elizabeth and Jessica for help.

At first the twins think Sam is imagining things. After all, who believes in ghosts? But the more the girls get to know their new friend, the more they feel he's telling the truth. Something is out there. The twins are going to have to do a little ghost hunting of their own. But what happens when they do discover a ghost? Or, worse, what happens if it discovers them?

Waiting for the ghost

Sam and the Wakefield twins had been standing in the cemetery for half an hour.
"Tell me about the ghost," Jessica said. "What did he do? Did you see him float out of his grave and fly in the air? What did he look like?"
"He looked like me," Sam said.
"But ghosts don't look like people," Jessica said.
Sam frowned and turned away. Part of him wanted Elizabeth and Jessica to be around if the ghost came. But part of him wanted to be alone. After all, something had been making him come to the cemetrey, not them.
Suddenly a scream pierced the air. Sam spun around and saw Jessica clutching Elizabeth's arm. Jessica was pointing toward the cemetrey gate. Sam followed her gaze. Only fifty yards away the ghost stood frozen. Sam was staring right into it's eyes. The ghost's hair, his face, his expression, everything about him looked exactly like Sam.
"He's going to get us!" Jessica screamed.
