Elizabeth and Jessica Wakefield always dreamed about the day they'd go off to college. They had no idea that day would come the summer after sixth grade, when they enroll in a two-week program at SVU!
Elizabeth is thrilled to study Romantic poetry. And when she meets Ethan Willimas, a totally cute teaching assistant, she has the feeling that the class will be even more romantic than she thought. But Ethan is a college student . . . way too old for Elizabeth. Or is he?
Jessica thinks everything about college life is perfect . . . except for her obnoxious roommate, Susan Rainer. Jessica wishes Susan would get lost . . . and Susan does. In fact, she disappears from SVU completely! Did Jessica put a curse on her roommate?
"You're Elizabeth's sister, right?" Ethan said eagerly.
"That's right!" Elizabeth smiled. "I'm Geraldine, Elizabeth's older sister." She tried to steady herself in her high heels. "Indeed."
"Indeed," Ethan echoed her. He motioned to the table. "Have a seat, um - Geraldine."
"Thank you so much," Elizabeth said, gratefully sinking into the chair. "I'm eighteen, by the way."
Ethan rubbed his nose. "Well, pleased to meet you, Geraldine," he said. "Your, um, sister is quite a kid."
"Oh indeed," Elizabeth said, nodding. "She just loves your class. Poetry is practically her life, you know."
"Really?" Ethan leaned forward. "Does she, like, write poetry too?"
"Like?" What kind of word is that for an English teacher to use? Elizabeth oh-so-casually bumped her elbow against Ethan's. "Elizabeth writes OK poetry," she said, "but mine is really quite good, if I say so myself." She gave a discreet cough. "Perhaps you'd like to see it sometime."
It was a good idea she was wearing plenty of rouge, Elizabeth decided. Underneath it all she was positive she was blushing up a storm. No way in the world would the real Elizabeth Wakefield have come on that srtong.
