"You took your coat off.
And stood in the rain.
You were always crazy like that."
Foolish Games-Jewel(1994)
From her "pieces of you" album
that turned her into a superstar.

Just heard "Foolish Games" on the radio.
Was thrown back six years ago,
when i was a "soft-rock favorites" radio junkie
hearing the song for the first time.
Then thrown forward a few years later
when my wife and i spontaneously sang along
in near-perfect harmony
as the song played over the speakers
at our neighborhood supermarket.
We knew all the words by heart.
Jewel is a pop star
with the heart and soul of a folkie.
Loved all the songs from that album.
The other hits:
"Who Will Save Your Soul"
"Pieces of You"
"You Were Meant For Me".
And two hard-hitters,
not quite ready for pop radio:
"Adrian"
"Daddy"
"Daddy" is about a Klansman.
"Adrian" is the story of a man
with severe brain damage after a boating accident.
Don't listen to vocal music much anymore.
Listen to the Sunday nite "New Age" shows on WSHU.
The kitties love it!
"Hearts of Space" i have been listening to since 1982.
The year before i met Karen.
They ended tonite's show with music
from Brian Eno's classic,
"Music for Airports"(1978)
which we have.
"Airports" is absolutely perfect "bing-bong" music.
Electronic valium at its relaxing best.
Smooths out all the rough edges of the day.
I imagine that it is still available.
It's now 1:48am
Writing this in Notepad.
Maybe i can make this thang into a new page.
Without too much hassle.
Sending flocks of angels . . .
Take care,
Beary Bipolar
