Oklahoma City, OK Old Douglass High School
We visited this vacant school on the advice of Doug Dawgz's blog (http://dougdawg.blogspot.com/2006/12/deep-deuce-history.html) Given the timeframe he gives on Douglass High school and the information presented at the Oklahoma History Museum, this would have been the second-to-last segregated African American Douglass High School. According to the History Museum, in the early 1950s Black leaders had success in raising bonds to build a new Douglass. According to Doug, this was a former White school from early in the 20th century. Oklahoma County, (4/2008)
