"I remember now, you're the girl that was singing..at the
movie premiere thing, I saw you, Nick and I," she turned
away blushing.
"Oh," she turned back to face him. "I didn't know
anyone was listening--I'm on the sound track, I'm Lauren."
"Nice to meet you Lauren," he shook her hand quickly
staring out the door as if he was being watched. He looked back
at her and smiled, "sorry but I must be going before someone
misses me."
"Bye," her smiled faded. Brian grabbed his suit jacket
and started away but turned back.
"When can I see you again?"
"Tomorrow I'll be at the hall again, around noon."
"Until then," Brian walked quickly out the door.
"Brian," a voice screeched as he enter the premiere
hall.
"Honey," he smiled. "I was just out getting,"
he started but she cut him off.
"Where have you been? I was," reporters gather around
the couple. "I was starting to worry, I thought you got hurt
and were," fake tears filled her eyes.
"I'll never run off again," Brian soothed rocking her
in his arms; she smiled.
"Thanks Bear I love you," she kissed him for the
cameras. "I'm gonna kill you," she whispered still
smiling for the cameras. Great actress, Brian thought also
smiling for the cameras as he held his wife, his love, and his
heartache.
"Brian how could you," Leigh Anne raged throwing a vase
at him; he dunked. "I mean this was my night and you had to
run off and totally ruin my dreams you are always doing
this," she screamed.
"I'm sorry."
"Sorry isn't good enough any more Brian I'm sorry but I'm
leaving you," Brian's heart stopped.
"What," he stood up and walked over to his wife.
"I'm leaving you, and I hope you are happy alone cause no
one is going to want a washed up pop star!" She stormed out
of their house with a suitcase. Brian fell back on the couch.
"I don't believe this," he murmured.
*THE NEXT DAY
And all those nights I spent with you
They meant nothing to me
All those times I said I loved you
They were all true but I see the way you are
Truthfully I don't want you back
And I
Oh I never will...
Brian watched her belt out those words, Wow she's awesome..no way
more than awesome she's spectacular, Brian thought clapping as
she finished off the last few bars of the song.
"Oh, hey Brian," she jumped off the stage. "I'm
taking five," she grabbed a water bottle and a towel.
"Hey, Lauren how are you," he asked as they sat in they
fold out chairs in front of the stage.
"Fine, you're early," she gulped down her water.
"Yeah, I know but I wanted to hear you sing again, you are
very talented," she blushed. "What was that song you
were singing?"
"Oh that's just something I made up yesterday after I met
you actually, it just popped into my head."
"It's good, really good."
"Ok you can stop with the compliments, I already like
you."
"Sorry," he looked down.
"Don't apologize, it's not necessary."
"Ok," Brian smiled again. He really liked this girl for
knowing her for a day. She's so different, he thought sitting
there.
"Hey, Brian so what do you think," she asked flashing
him a smile.
"Huh?"
"I asked if you would mind singing a song with me," she
formed her lips into a pout.
"No-I," he stopped. "I would love to."
"Ok I've got this song one of my friends wrote," she
grabbed a sheet of paper out of her bag and handed it to him.
"I know the words, so just look over it while I go get my
band so we can sing it, you want anything?"
"No," he waved her off reading the music.
"You ready Brian," Lauren asked walking onto the stage
a while later.
"Yeah, I think so," Brian read through the words one
more time. "Yeah I'm ready."
"Ok guys hit it," Lauren demanded.
"One, two, three.."
So I wonder
Whatcha gonna do without me
Do you feel the same
When no more tears will fall
Will you still cry
I wanted to stay in your arms
But someone else stood there
With open arms
Waiting for you
Wanting to hold you too
I wished you would come back
No such luck, you ran to their arms
Their open arms
Waiting for you
Wanting to hold you too
"Stop, stop, stop," Lauren screamed.
"What," he drummer asked.
"Shush Todd," she walked over to Brian. "You
aren't singing," she frowned.
"I-I know," Brian mumbled falling down on the stage,
tears stung his eyes.
"Ok everyone take 5 more," Lauren ordered; no one
moved. "Now!" Everyone scrabbled off the stage.
"Are you ok Brian," she asked patting his back. He
looked up at her with tears in his eyes and shook his head 'No'.
"It's horrible Lauren, she-she, she left me, this morning! I
thought I could be strong but that song," Brian cried.
"Shh," She rocked Brian back and forth in her arms.
"It's ok Brian, I'm sure she'll come back and realize how
great you are."
"That's what I'm afraid of," Brian wiped his eyes.
