Chapter Nine

"Hey D how are you," Aj slid into the chair next to his friend.
"I found him dead Alex," Howie muttered, his eyes were gray. Aj didn't know what to do besides hug him and tell him what he needed to hear.
"Howie it's alright, it's not your fault," Aj soothed, but it didn't help his friend in any way.
"I've called Kristin, she's on her way," Howie sobbed. Aj held his friend and prayed.
"It's gonna be fine," Aj repeated over and over. He wanted so much to break down and cry along with Howie, but he knew he had to remain strong. For a little over 15 minutes the two friends sat there in silence when Kristin showed up.
"Howie, Aj! Ohmigod!" She cried hugging both of her long time friends.
"Where's Tabby?" Aj asked holding Kristin.
"I left her with my mom, I couldn't bring her here."
"I'm so sorry," Howie muttered.
"Why?" Kristin asked, she could see the fear in his eyes.
"I'm sorry," he repeated again and then again.
"What's wrong D?"

"Howie, talk to us," Kristin cried.
"I'm sorry!" Aj smacked Howie across the face in hopes he would snap out of his phase. "I'm sorry!"
"Aj," Kristin cried.
"I dunno Kris, I dunno!"

"We've got a message for you Mr. Mclean," a nurse entered the small room.
"What is it?"
"It's from a Mr. Carter, he says help, Rok is loosing it."
"Thanks miss," Aj said as he sent Kristin a worried glance.
