In this class students learn about the parts of insects and the different classifications of insects. Students study about insects that are helpful and harmful to the environment. They learn about different uses of helpful insects to benefit humans. For example, ladybugs are used to control harmful insects in greenhouses. Students work on a collection of insects. They use class time and their own time to collect specimens and then they must identify the insects using pictures and books.
