In small animal classes students learn many things from the importance of sanitation to the proper care and handling of animals themselves. Attention is paid to "hands-on" activities. Students have projects that pertain to animals of their interests. A wide variety of projects have been done from breeding guinea pigs to taking care of turtles. This class is a very good way to introduce students to animals and to help them with their choices for college majors.
