Apologies for the delayed response - I was away for a few days and am
still catching up.

I'm afraid I don't have Clovelly baptisms for the relevant period,
just the marriages - where all i could find was:

William Buckingham mariner married Grace Fulford spinster, both of
Clovelly, by banns on April 27th 1806. He signed name; she made mark.
Witnesses Richard Crocker

William Fulford mariner married Betsey Buckingham spinster, both of
Clovelly, by banns on March 2nd 1813. Both made mark. Witnesses Mary
Colwill and William Buckingham.

The name doesn't appear in any of the Clovelly land tax records that
I've transcribed, nor in my large database of miscellaneous records.

'Down a Cobbled Street' lists William Fulford, aged 31 as one of
thirty-one fisherman who died in a disastrous storm, leaving a widow
Elizabeth and a family of four.

However I searched Genogold's Clovelly baptisms 1725-1838 and found:

Fulford/Susan/ /13-Nov/1814/William/Betsey/Clovelly/mariner/ /PR6
Fulford/Eliza/ /22-Jun/1817/William/Elizabeth/Town/mariner/ /PR6
Fulford/Betsy/ /11-Jul/1819/William/Betsy/Town/mariner/ /PR6
Fulford/Mary/Ann/22-Jul/1821/William/Elizabeth/Town/mariner/ /PR6

Could this be your Betsey, baptised 11 Jul 1819. Certainly it seems
to be your Monmouth family - and she might have been baptised late,
though the above baptismal dates look as though they fit with a
sequence of births.

Hope this helps

cheers

brian
