Stars: Bredan Fraser, Steve Buscemi, Adam Sandler, Micheal McKean, Joe Mantegna,Chris Farley.
Director: Micheal Lehmann.
Plot: A rock band, The Lone Rangers, (yes that's plural) are trying to be heard on the radio but noone is taking their demo. Made up of Chazz(Bredan Fraser), Rex(Steve Buscemi), and Pip(Adam Sandler) they decide to take hostage a radio station and demand that they play their demo or else. They don't mean any harm, in fact, they're taking the station hostage will water squirt guns. The owner of the station Milo(Micheal McKean) is trying to stop the Lone Rangers, while the DJ Ian(Joe Mantegna) is going along with it and thinks it's pretty cool. Before the band knows it, the whole police station has surrounded the building and they don't know what to do. Meanwhile, they still haven't been able to play their demo. Chris Farley plays a policeman Wilson, who's trying to keep the public outside under control.
My Thoughts: I've seen this movie a bunch of times on TV and I watch it mostly because it has some funny moments and actors from SNL. As a comedy it's OK, but most of the time it's slow and isn't constantly funny. The director made the characters overly stupid which sometimes works in movies, but in this case, I don't think it went well. One of the parts that I did enjoy was Chris Farley's part, even though he was only in the movie for a small time, he was funny every moment. I like the part where he rips out a teenager' nose ring because it's looks very hilarious. Usually Steve Buscemi picks well roles such as Reservoir Dogs or Fargo, but I think he made a wrong choice in making this flick. Joe Mantegna does a good job keeping the trio focused and under control, but that still doesn't make this film a real good comedy. There are some small roles by well known celebrities such as Micheal Richards and Stuttering John but they don't improve the movie too much. Overall, if you're looking for a really funny laugh your ass off comedy, don't rent this, but if you're looking for a typical goofy comedy, this is your kind of movie.
