These are the poems that I wrote In my Jr.year of college during a poetry class that I was taking thought you might enjoy the thought of someone telling me what to write and me actually not getting writers block.

Old Friends

A sudden Calmness falls over the land

She has come yet again

The wind starts to howl,

The darkness falls cold over the old barn

It's only friend a tree half gone,

Her last fight had taken its toll here.

She wraps her whirling fingers

Around the branches and leave

In Pain the tree Creaks and cracks

Swaying to and fro.

The clouds run fast in fear

As do I, to find some safety

From the cold harsh world

Ifind comfort in the old barn

The inside howled much like the out

But I was safe, for now

Fool I thought, as I sat in the barn

Only a fool would try to stand against her

The wind blew by quickly over the land

Soon she was gone again

Leaving the Old Friends in peace

Dance

Orange,

Yellow,

Red,

And Blue,

What kind of new s do you bring today, I’ve not a clue

A dream of long ago, With a friend tried and true

When we fumbled and tumbled, To find what is now you.

Till my fears all come true

My friend you had danced with, now I was left with only you

Like my love was a lie, you were alive now it was true.

Orange,

Yellow,

Red,

And Blue,

Poor Family

Dance poor Family

For the dinner you can not afford

Dance poor Mother

For old bread to feed your baby's head

A feast of bread and wine

Your only prayer is to be fed

Dance poor Baby

For mother is sick, and father has fled

Dance poor Father

For the family you have shed

Dance poor Shack

That puts a roof over all their heads

Dance poor Water Stream

That gives clean water to drink instead

Dance poor Apple Tree

Who tried to keep them all fed

Dance poor Mom and Baby

Dance poor Family

Sir and Mame

The lights all go on and the wheels

You hear come down

The patchwork becomes houses

The flowers turn to trees as,

We float gently down

The ants grow taller and walk on two feet

We stand as they run to get by

"Damb Tourists" they sound

Thinking how nice ants are you say, "People today"

As we turn to walk away you hear someone say

"What was that? Did you say something mame?"

You turn around fast and there was a man

A face tatered and old,

Looks like something to trace from an old picture book

The eyes of cold stele, lips tight like a seal

You think really fast, now what did I say?

Nicely as you can you put down your bags

You say, "Sir I am not here to fight just to enjoy, but thank you for making sure"

Then you pick up your bags

And run to join me.

Loveless, Limbless, and Groundless

It is better to be a Gladiator

Than a cowboy or Indian

Gladiators lose limb after limb for life

Cowboys leave love after love for happiness

Indians lose ground after ground for money

So which is more important Happiness, Life, or Money

For if you have money but no happiness

Life will never be

If you have life but no money

Happiness may never be

If you have happiness but no life

There is nothing to be

Therefore life would be my choice

Leaving the Limbless man above

The Loveless boy and the Groundless king

Freedom

It is better to be a Gladiator

Than a cowboy or Indian

Gladiators fight to death for freedom

Cowboys ride high to see them

Indians send smoke to lead them

Freedom for all they pray

As they fight, struggle and lay

For what we have everyday

Moon Is A Sleep

When do we sail to the moon?

Who else can we bring for company

To appreciate the scenery

This is very important to me.

When do we sail to the moon?

The sea is in much terror

And the amazon is having a party

All this for the rest of infinity

Nadia comes in her pajamas

The brother of the moon is saddened

Because his prescription is no good today

Green fruit bring s happiness

When do we sail to the moon?

As the time rises so dose impatience

The mood is filled with fear.

Soon we will be in the air.

Never Again

"A shot of Tequila Sir." As the bartender looked me up and down, on the counter he plopped down a shot glass with a red dragon on the front. Red dragons come on Chinese New Year. Today was just a day like any other.

Today was special. 10 years ago it happened. The innocence left a young girl's eyes never to be found again. The shot went fast then there was RED. A whole gushing with red, life was gone. The red of the dragon filled the street. Never again, never again, He would never hurt anyone, innocence would never be. Never again kept going through my head.

I drank down the dragon's fire and slammed him on the bar. "Hit me again sir, hit me again. "Tonight I would be that dragon for he had moved and after tonight I would be never again. I picked up a tissue and blotted my lips.

At the end of the bar was a man. The dragon told me, "It must be him!" I reached in my bag and felt something-sharp cold and smooth. The man was mine I could see it in his eyes. I walked coyly out of the bar so he would follow to see.

The door closed behind him as his lips touched my neck; his hand went into my bag. It reappeared with the cold scissors he said as my dragon, "Never Again!"

Green

Green

Hope and happiness

Green

Everyday it’s there

Green

Left, right, and in between

Green

City, Country, night, and day

Green

Always there

Green

It is life and death

Green

Controlling all of us
