Uprisings in France

Paris - Tension between the French wizards and the French Minister of Magic, Pierre J. Lemieux, has finally resulted in a long-predicted riot. Early yesterday morning, wizards broke down the doors of the Lemieux's mansion and put the minister under a full body-bind. It has been reported that Lemieux has unfairly taxed the French wizardry community, using the money for his own personal use. Officials believe the riot was caused by the anger of the citizens. The current whereabouts of the minister are unknown. Cornelius Fudge is currently supervising the French Ministry, attempting to keep the chaos at a minimum.

Quidditch World Cup in U.S.

Boston - As a tribute to September 11, the Quidditch World Cup will take place this year in Massachusetts. The odds of the Massachusetts team (the Fitchburg Finches) winning the Cup are 3-1. "There will be a fierce competition this year between the Woollongong Warriors (Australia) and the Finches. It's unlikely any British team will steal the Cup this year," says avid Quidditch fan, Mark Lloyd. Indeed, popular British teams like the Appleby Arrows and the Wimbourne Wasps have not been up to par. Tickets for the Cup (June 25-30) go on sale this Friday.

Witch Weekly's Music Awards Spark M.O.M.'s Interest

New York City - Next week's 150th annual Witch Weekly's Music Awards has caught not only the attention of rising stars such as Celestina Warbuck. In fact, the American and British Ministries of Magic have it under a careful eye. The possibility of an attack by Death Eaters has been reported. As of now, the information is unclear. Auror Joseph Warner has said, "Aurors are working very diligently to find the Death Eaters before the Awards. Even so, extra security will be present at the ceremony. It will be perfectly safe."
