What did I do?

They avoid me

They look at me

They whisper

Whisper about me

I want to get close enough

Close enough to touch

Close enough to talk to them

Close enough to make them understand

But they won't let me

Won't let me touch them

Why?

I'm not diseased

I just want to be sure

To be sure that they are there

To be sure that I'm not entirely alone

Yet, in a sense, I will always be alone

Because no-one cares

Because I will never get close enough
