'Can you see in the dark?'

Demeter is a very cool (in my opinion) calico queen. She's black, jolts of gold, with a white bib. Her wig is messy, looking like electricity has run through it, and it's basically the same colours as her unitard. She's kind of (okay, VERY) paranoid, most likely due to the fact that Macavity keeps going after her, and she can sense his presence. She and Munkustrap seem to have some sort of relationship, although in some productions it's Alonzo. I've heard it said that she's Jemima's mother, or sister, though I don't believe this. Lots of people believe that she and Bombalurina are sisters, but I think they're just friends, and not related. When I first watched the video, I thought that she had a crush on Macavity, and Bombalurina kept teasing her about it. I still get this impression occasionally. Demeter and Bombalurina sing 'Macavity: The Mystery Cat' together. Demeter also sings in 'The Old Gumbie Cat.'
