Facing Forward
By Kalliroscope

I won’t look back any more
What’s done is done
What’s dead is dead
That time has flown too fast away
That love has died with him
Macavity, cursed fiend
Killed a stranger that he met
A stranger who was kind
A stranger most polite
No one cared when the strange cat died
The Jellicles didn’t care when my mate died
And now I’ll try not to care
But it’s so hard to forget
The times we spent together
It’s so hard not to recall
The days we spent together
The nights we spent together
The lifetime we spent together.
When the red cat bared his evil claws
And plunged them into my mate’s heart
His claws stabbed my heart as well
And destroyed me to the core
But I won’t look back any more
A cat that’s dead cannot return
And the Jellicles don’t care
Macavity doesn’t care
I’ll try not to care
I’ll try to forget that time of my life
When I had love
When I had everything
I’ll only know this time, now
When I have nothing.
