From the black-lava peninsula to the white sands of Oneola Bay, this tropical 6,761 yard, par 72 course has been rendered to perfection with the meticulous attention to detail that can only be found in the courses of Links LS. Designed by Arnold Palmer, the Kapalua Bay Course includes panoramic views of the Pacific from almost every hole.
The 3rd hole is a nice par 3 with a church behind the green. (At this hole, Bill Murray, during the final Lincoln-Mercury Kapalua Tournament, took the entire gallery in with him during a wedding, walked down the aisle to the altar, dipped the bride, kissed her and then turned to the groom and said "here you go, I've warmed her up for you." Funny stuff!) With the wind, the 4th green is reachable, but you have to have guts, and a perfect snap.
Rated 15th "Best in State" in 1995 by Golf Digest, the Kapalua Bay course provides a unique challenge to every golfer's skill level. The Bay Course is characterized by rolling and hilly terrian; 68 bunkers total; and 8 water hazards.
Signature Hole Comments: The 5th hole, a par three hole, promises to be one of the
most dramatic golf holes in the world. Your tee shot must carry 100 yards over the
Pacific onto a well-guarded green. This down wind approach leaves many golf shots in
the bunkers that flank the back of the green.
