Monday, June 26th, 2000 Today is the last day of the bubsnews 1st Anniversary Contest. He will be drawing the winners from all the participants tonight at 11:00pm CST. He will also be posting them at that time....Also word is that the E-World Shotgun 2000 was a disaster. It appears as though the Zone hasn't kept up their site and the site had the VGA Tournament rooms still setup from like 5 weeks ago!! |
Friday, June 23rd, 2000 The following is from an email I received from Microsoft: Greetings Golf Fans, Virtual golfers and their real-world counterparts will team up to make golf history later this week when the E-World Shotgun 2000 joins the World Shotgun 2000. Microsoft Corp. and St. Andrews Links will combine the virtual and real golfing communities to form the world's largest ever golfing twosome.
Playable on Zone.com with Links LS 2000, the event will mirror the real-world World
Shotgun 2000, which will take place at the same time on Saturday, June 24. Organized
by St. Andrews Links Trust, which runs all six golf courses at St. Andrews including
the Old Course, the event is being billed as the World's Biggest Day of Golf. The event
will celebrate the history and tradition of six centuries of golf with real-world golfers
from around the world teeing off simultaneously with their Internet counterparts. For more
details, including links to registration, visit the Links LS 2000 Web site today. |
Saturday, June 17th, 2000 Ok, the following is a headline that was featured on Bubsnews.com: Ok, here is the explanation of the 'dynamic cam', which is a new feature of Links 2001 and can be seen in the Whistler #6 screen shot that was released yesterday. Mark Hulka (LSTour) says, "First, I setup the main view as a dynamic cam. Then, after I take my swing (on the swing meter), the golfer animation starts to play back and the camera switches between different angles. The Whistler #6 image shows one of the different angles when the golfer is swinging. It's kind of hard to explain. It's a bit like watching TV when a golfer takes a swing and the shot is shown from different angles." Sounds very interesting, can't wait to see it in action!! |
