Disclaimer: I just wrote the epilogue for what should happen to Blanche. Sorry I couldn't write the long story, but I had to write something to calm down my suspicions and other's confusion....
Blanche was in the asylum for a year until her sister came to visit her.
Stella had recently left her husband and was on her quest to find who she was. Stella's little girl was named after her sister.
After five years of enjoying the peaceful solitude of being with Stella and the nuns, Blanche calmed down her nerves. Mirrors were banished from her room, however, so that she couldn't obsess over her wrinkles and age.
When she was released, Blanche moved into the tiny apartment with her sister and neice. After a decade living there, she retired into a country home far away from the disapproving eye, where she stayed even at age 67, when she married John Kington, a former sailor one year older than she.
Blanche jr married a handsome young man named Fred Burns at the age of 26. She never met her father, but was always behind her mother, defending her over the smallest argument. She moved out of Louisiana into New York, only coming back once for her mother's funeral. Her visit was delayed when her aunt fell down the steps at age 93, and died the same week. She never had any children, but lived a long and happy life.
