The Imperial Star Galleon is a 300 meter long ship that was designed to combine the cargo space of a bulk freighter with the armament of a combat ship. The ship can both carry cargo and defend itself. This eliminates the need for an escort of fighters. The Star Galleon is not envolved in combat very often.
