Just A Country Girl I Am
No pretense no sham
Corn bread beans
and fried potatoes
And in the summer give me
Fried green tomatoes
Sundays are for the Lord
And Monday thru Friday
We work hard
Saturdays are for going to town
To shop and look around
Might even find a new gingham gown
Yep I'm country alright
I love to hear those
guitars and fiddles play
And when friends stop by
They like to sit awhile,
gossip and crochet
Nothing like a country girl
to make you feel right at home
They love their men folk just right
So he'll never want to roam
We let them think they're boss
But we know who owns the hoss
We keep our young'uns corn fed and hand spanked
Only whenever they're mean ornery or downright cross
I've heard it said ..we're a dying breed
But let me tell ya folk's
They're barkin' up the wrong tree
Cause I'm still here
And I'm
Just a country girl
