What is an Efed?
|
Never been in an efed before, but want to try? Well, here's what an efed is. In most efeds, wrestlers are original. Some feds allow characters like The Rock or Stone Cold, but not many. In the IWF, all characters are original. You have matches, work angles, forge alliances, make enemies, everything you would see in a real wrestling federation like the WWF. Things just work a little different. In efeds, everything you do revolves around roleplaying (see below). This is how you use your wrestler. It is also how most efeds decide match winners (as is the case in IWF). The better the roleplaying, the more matches you win. Simply put, an efed is a place where you can create your own wrestling character, put him (or her) in online matches, and make a wrestling career with him (or her).

What is Roleplaying?
|
Roleplaying is the most common form of using your wrestler. It is what you do to win matches, further angles, and anything else you want to do. A roleplay could be a promotion for a match where you talk about your opponents, etc. It could be your character has a conversation with a friend about a match, even if it isn't an 'official' promo. If could be your character in his/her everyday life. Roleplaying is the most essential part of any efed. Although this may give you a basic idea about roleplaying, the best place to learn about it is by taking a look at our Roleplay Board, and take a look at the real thing.

Roleplaying Guide
|
Roleplaying is the key to success in any efed. Quality roleplaying equals numerous title shots, respect, and generally a good efed career. Here are some basic guidelines to follow when roleplaying.
-Most important roleplaying rule of the IWF: Quality over Quantity. You can roleplay every single day, but it won't help you win unless they are good. Roleplays should be unique, descriptive, interesting, and sometimes even funny.
-Grammar. It's not like we're english professors here, but things like capital I's, correct punctuation, and other basic grammar are all important factors. No one goes looking for grammar errors with a fine tooth comb here, so as long as nothing sticks out really bad, you should be ok.
-Character use. This is explained in the rules as well. Don't use another character on the roster in your roleplays in a way that they would not approve of. If there is any doubt in your mind, don't do it. Aside from the fact that your roleplay will most likely not be counted for anything, it will just get people angry with you.
-Length. Again, it's quality over quantity, but you can't get much quality with a ten line roleplay. If you aim for fifty lines as a starting point, you should be fine. It's certainly not necessary to make them that long, but it will help you out.
-Swearing. Don't overdo it. An occasional swear will add some color to your roleplays, but this isn't any good:
"Fuck you dumbass bitch! You piece of fucking shit I'll kick your fucking ass! Motherfucker you're fucking dead!"
That won't be winning you any titles. Swearing isn't by any means banned, but using them too much isn't going to help you out.

Efed Ettiquite
|
This should all be common sense, but some people don't have that. Unless you want to be the fed asshole, keep these rules in mind whether you're on the RP board, OOC board, or just chatting on a messenger.
-Again, character usage. Don't mess with other people's characters without asking them.
-Don't post dumb messages every day on the OOC Board. If you have the time and want to RP every day, it might get annoying to some people, but no one's going to get pissed with you for it. But it's different if you're leaving stupid stuff on the OOC board all the time. It just gets old.
-Dont copy other people's style. If it's in roleplaying, telling jokes, or just talking, you're not going to look cool if you're just copying other people's stuff. Keep this proverb in mind: "It is better to keep your mouth shut and look stupid than to open it and remove all doubt." that could apply to the OOC message thing above here as well.
-Don't claim to be the best, unless you're joking around. No one wants to hear about how good you are (even if you really ARE better than everyone else), especially if you're the only one that thinks you're the best.
-Other than that, just try not to be an ass. Simple enough.

Basic HTML
|
If you feel like putting some html into your RPs, here's some basics for you. But remember, it's better to have you RP to be written great, than for it to look great. Using this html really won't help you win any matches, but it looks good. If you want to use it, just do the following without the *s in it.
- Bold = <*b*>Text Here<*/*b*>
- Italics = <*i*>Text Here<*/*i*>
- Underline = <*u*>Text Here<*/*u*>
- Colors = <*font* *color*="any color here">Text Here<*/*font*>
Blue = <*font* *color*="blue">Text Here<*/*font*>
Yellow = <*font* *color*="yellow">Text Here<*/*font*>
