Scam artists selling health insurance are targeting the unemployed. They sell policies supposedly comparable to Blue Cross/Blue Shield, implying that they are accepted wherever BC/BS is. They issue realistic looking insurance cards. Then the patients find out most health care officers, including vision centers, do not accept them. If you have such patients, you might want to tell them to contact the state agency that regulates insurance, the Better Business Bureau, and/or the Federal Trade Commission.
