Buildings are a major energy-consuming sector in our economy.   Starting in the 1970's, a great   deal of work has been done on the design and operation of energy-efficient buidlings.  Over the years, we have gained extensive knowledge and experience regarding what is needed to make a building or a complex of buildings "green".

This seminar will help you to find out what work is being done currently on Green Buildings, with special reference to Connecticut.  What is needed to make buildings "Green" ?  What is Sustainable Design ?  The three speakers -- knowledgeable specialists on different aspects of Green Buildings -- will discuss both the technical and policy aspects of the design and operation of Green Buildings -- including architectural design ( with reference to recent Green Building projects),   Lighting Design, Policy issues, and the work of the Connecticut Green Building Council (CTGBC)  and  the Connecticut Dept of Environmental Protection (DEP).

There will be a discussion period;  you are invited to bring your questions and ideas.
