The tour began at the map of Iraq. Among the oldest cultures in the world, Iraq is fabled throughout history as the cradle of civilization. In ancient times it was known as "Mesopotamia" or, land between two rivers. The first written words came from Mesopotamia.

Much of the city was renovated during the 20th century. Behind me are some of the original bricks of the ancient city bearing the mark of Nubuchadnezzar, nearly 3000 years old.

Death Site of Alexander the Great

After conquering most of the known world and taking the throne at Babylon, Alexander the Great died here at the age of 32 from Malaria, delivered by the bite of a Euphrates Mosquito.

Mythical Creature of Babylon

Mythical sentinel creature of ancient Babylon. It possesses the head of a serpent, scaled body of a fish, front paws of a lion, hind legs of an eagle and tail of a scorpion.
