CLASS OF 1940 OBITUARIES

CATHERINE "KITTY” JORDAN JONES, 73, a  resident of Albuquerque, NM for 32 years, died Monday, January 8, 1996. She is survived
By her husband, W. Dale Jones; daughters, Patricia (Jim) George and Marilyn (Jeff) Mauldin, all of Albuquerque, and Barbara (Pete) Perdikakis of San Clemente, CA; grandchildren, Michelle Melendez, Melissa Mauldin, Laura George, Kim Mauldin, Jimmy George, Eric Mauldin, Ashley Mauldin and Stevie Perdikakis; great grandchildren  Paloma Sosa and Wes Mauldin; brothers, Franklin Jordan, Benny Jordan and Kenneth Ross; and sister
Alice Shields. Mrs. Jones was preceded in death by  a sister, Mary Softeland. She was born in Cushing, Oklahoma. She was the co-valedictorian of her 
graduating class in 1940. Mrs. Jones received her  Bachelors of Science degree from Michigan State University, and a Nursing degree from the University 
of Albuquerque. She was a member of Hoffmantown Baptist Church for over 30 years. Kitty was employed by St. Joseph Hospital as a registered nurse/enterostomal therapist, she also worked at La-Z-Boy Furniture as a sales representative, retiring five years ago. “God, family and education were Kitty’s priorities.” Services will be held Saturday, 11:00 a.m. at Hoffmantown Baptist
Church, 8888 Harper NE, with Pastor Ken Moore, officiating. Pallbearers were be Jeff Mauldin, Eric Mauldin, Jim George, Jimmy George, Pete Perdikakis and Miguel Melendez. PANSY I. KIRKPATRICK

PANSY I. KIRKPATRICK, lifelong Cushing resident, passed away on Friday, December 7, 2007 in the Cushing Regional Hospital at the age of 84 years. 

The daughter of the late Ray J. Waller and Minnie C. O’Rourke Waller, Pansy was born on July* 25, 1923 in Cushing, and was raised and educated in Cushing, graduating from Cushing High School in 1940. 

She was united in marriage to John Kirkpatrick on February 21, 1941 in Cushing and to this union two children, Jeanette and John, were born.  John preceded her in death on January 25, 1997. 

Pansy enjoyed quilting, sewing, gardening, canning and spending time with her grandkids and great-grandkids. 

Survivors include one daughter, Jeanette Paris; one son, John Kirkpatrick and his wife Diana; three grandchildren, Nathan Paris, Amy Kirkpatrick and Brooke Kirkpatrick; two great-grandchildren, Connor Paris and Ian Paris; several nieces, nephews, great nieces and great-nephews and other relatives and friends. 

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by two brothers, Clyde Waller and Virgil Waller and three sisters, Hulda DeBaun, Lucy Pearl Copple and an infant Clara Waller. 

 Memorial services were held on Sunday, December 16, 2007 at 2:00 P.M. in the Church of the Brethren Cemetery.
