MARY ELLA JORDAN SOFTELAND, age 77, 1901 South 500 West, Apt. # 1, Bountiful, Utah, died Friday, December 29, 1995,as a result of an automobile accident. 

 Mrs. Softeland is survived by one son, Oistein J. Softeland of Phoenix, AZ; grand children, Teri Lynn Softeland,Tiffany Softeland, Brandi Sue Softeland, Tambi Breann Softeland and Shilo Softeland; great grandchildren, Zachary JamesDowns; sisters, Catherine Jones, Albuquerque, NM,Alice Shields, Redwood City, CA and brothers, Franklin S. Jordan, Borger, TX, Benny Jordan, Fredonia, AZ and Kenneth Ross, Chandler, AZ. She was  preceded in death by her husband, Oistein T. Softeland and mother, Mrs.Katie (A.K). Ross). 

Mrs. Softeland was the valedictorian of her 1938 graduating class in Cushing, OK.  Mrs. Softeland graduated from Cheathams Business in Cushing, OK and later worked for more than 40 years in the United States Government in Washington, DC and later in Salt Lake City, UT. 

An accomplished pianist and singer, Mary Ella was was active and faithful in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. 

Funeral Services were held in the Woods Cross Chapel, Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints.  Mary Ella Was buried in the Bountiful Cemetery along the side of her husband, Oistein T. Softeland.  Pallbears were members of the immediate family.
