CUSHING HIGH SCHOOL

OBITUARIES- CLASS OF 1993

Hayley Cochran McCarty

(March 19, 1975 – March 1, 2008)

It is with the heaviest of hearts that our family announces the passing of our dearest wife, mother, daughter, sister, aunt and friend, Hayley Cochran McCarty. While Hayley would never have been mistaken as an athlete on this Earth, she ran the race of life with the utmost passion, finishing in the arms of her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, this past Saturday evening, March 1, 2008 in Houston, Texas.

She was a 1993 graduate of Cushing High School in Cushing, Oklahoma, followed by undergraduate and graduate degrees from the University of Central Oklahoma (1997) and the University of Kansas (2005). Though her achievements and associations were many, Hayley will forever be remembered with one simple word, love. She loved more than any, and in turn, was loved by all who had the blessing of knowing her.

Her legacy will be carried on through her devoted husband and daughter, Brandy and Emerson McCarty of Geneva, Illinois; her parents, Steve and Debbie Cochran of Cushing, Oklahoma; her two sisters/ best friends, the Brandon and Lindsey Burns family of Tulsa, Oklahoma and Jenny Cochran, of Norman, Oklahoma; her paternal grandparents, Frank and Mary Cochran of Cushing, Oklahoma; her maternal grandparents, Jerry and Joanne Baker of Norman, Oklahoma; her father and sister-in-law, Truett McCarty and Kelly May, of Ada, Oklahoma and Gridley, Kansas; and last, but certainly not least, her nieces and nephew, Hadley and Baker Burns and Madison Fisher of Tulsa, Oklahoma and Gridley, Kansas respectively.

A celebration of Hayley’s life will take place on Thursday, March 6th at the First United Methodist Church of Cushing, Oklahoma at 2pm.

In lieu of flowers and gifts, the family is requested donations in Hayley’s honor to support adoption and the care of orphans worldwide through one of her favorite charitable organizations, Shaohannah’s Hope. P.O. Box 647; Franklin, TN 37065. More information can be found in regards to donations online at www.shaohannahshope.org

Arrangements are entrusted to Palmer Marler Funeral Home, Cushing.
