JERRY DWAYNE O'KELLEY
Jerry Dwayne O’Kelley, a devoted father, husband, son, and brother, died on Thursday, February 22, 2007 in Oklahoma City following a work related accident at the age of 25 years. Jerry was born on June 1, 1981 in Stillwater, OK to Michael Derek O’Kelley and Patricia (Lane) O’Kelley. He was reared and educated in the Stillwater and Cushing area, graduating from Cushing High School with the class of 1999. Jerry then enlisted into the United States Marine Corps, an accomplishment that he was very proud of. Jerry was united in marriage to Mariah Detwiler on November 19, 2005 in Mulhall, Oklahoma. Jerry will be remembered as a young man who loved Oklahoma University football, fishing, giving his twin brother, Jack, a hard time, but most of all, spending time with his girls. Jerry is survived by his wife Mariah of the home; 4 daughters, Catlyn, Gabrielle, Emily, and Jordin; mother, Pat (Lane) Spencer (CHS class of 1973) and her husband Richard of Stillwater; two sisters, Ericka Mitchell and her husband James of Cushing and Audra Kester and her husband Marty of Stillwell, OK; two brothers, Jack O’Kelley and his wife Jazmine of Cushing and Jason O’Kelley of Stillwater; Grandparents, Laverne and Jack Lane of Stillwater, Mildred O’Kelley of Alaska and Lee O’Kelley of Alaska; aunts; Denise Vaught, Sherry Ansel, Lonnie Hanley, and Shannon Ault; uncles, Larry O’Kelley, Sean O’Kelley, and Stacey O’Kelley; Nephews, Alec Mitchell, Colby Mitchell, Jackson O’Kelley, and Lane Kester; numerous cousins including Kara Vaught, Krista Barker, and Brent Ansel; and his mother-in-law and father-in-law, Alice and Harold Magee. Jerry was preceded in death by his father, Michael Derek O’Kelley. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m., Monday, February 26, 2007 in Oak Grove Baptist Church, Drumright, OK. Burial will follow in the Glenwood Cemetery, Perkins, OK. The O’Kelley family has requested that memorial contributions be made to the Jerry O’Kelley Memorial Fund at Bank of Cushing to benefit his wife and daughters.
