On a whole the novel does bounce around alot. The concept of guardian angels is not too original, but Koontz put his spin on it and he had his trademark bad guy. Fric is a great character, not a real hero. The ending was good and Dunny's fate was right. The book was an up and down roller coaster of thrills but with some light moments too. Rating: ****1/2.
