Elves      Elves are uncommon to see anywhere on Vlacian except in Kistaapn, which is caught between the Kistaapn Chasm and the Miroana Chasm. Southern Kistaapn is the only area on Vlacian which has a true forest anymore, and it rains often there - especially in Laicity, the elven capitol. Elves tend to avoid hot dry weather, like there is near the split in the chasms. Kistaapn is ruled by either a Patriarch or Matriarch. The position is passed down through the family line, to the person whom the current leader thinks is best fit for the position. If no one can be found in the family, the family will adopt the person whom the currently leader feels deserves the right to rule. The Patriarch or Matriarch isn't only the word of law in Kistaapn, but they are also the spiritual guide and must be in good standing with either Tor Pa or Celinae.      Elves are often viewed as flighty, poetic individuals, and elven society is filled with music, art, poetry, philosophy, and an appreciation for trickery and dexterity. It is common among elves for a guest to steal things from their host, though as soon as the host discovers that the guest has taken items the elven customs dictate that they must be returned. 'Dark Elves' are elves that have been cast out of Kistaapn, either for murder or treason or because they have been caught practicing dark magics or worshipping dark gods. Any Dark Elf who re-enters Kistaapn will find that their life is forfeit. Renegade Elves are elves who have left Kistaapn of their own free will, and are only welcome back into the kingdom if permission is attained from either the Patriarch or the Matriarch. If any elf cast out from Kistaapn speaks of the secret pass, magical means are employed to hunt them down and make sure they are killed. It is believed that the Patriarch or Matriarch knows when anyone speaks of the pass due to some sort of magic.      Elves are commonly tall, falling between six and a half and seven and a half feet in height. Elves often have hair in the pale shades of white, silver, gold, tan, light green, or light brown, though sometimes coppery red shows up among spellcasters. Elven eyes are usually green, yellow, or blue, and have gold flecks in them. Elves that have some human ancestry somehow might also have brown eyes with gold flecks. Elves usualy have pale green or brown skin.
