NEWS LETTER

DUNDAS GIRLS SOFTBALL LEAGUE

Issue 1 February/March 2009 Revised April 2

We’re almost there. Step 1 is now complete, you are registered.
It is just a matter of time now before you will be on the diamond.
Months will turn into weeks, then days and minutes.
Are you ready?
The Driving Park is finally starting to recover from its face-lift and looking really good.
We have two new diamonds in the center of the park for our T-Ball, Atom and Grasshopper teams.
With the diamonds ready to go there will be a lot more action happening in the park.
It will be nice to see all of the diamonds in use again.
If you haven’t had a chance to take a drive through yet make sure you do, it looks really nice.

CONGRATULATIONS!!!

Last season are Squirt A team won their division.
We would like to congratulate the Squirt Team.
AWESOME JOB GIRLS!

REP TEAM

Once again as a league we are looking to expand our presence in the softball community.
A few years ago we joined the Flamborough League and last year we experimented with a tournament team comprised of the girls in the Squirt division.
Their success has led us to take the next step in getting Dundas out into competitive ball.
We will be having a Novice Rep Team that will be playing in a bigger more aggressive league.
It will consist of a lot more traveling for league games and tournaments.
With the season capping off, fingers crossed, with the Provincial Championships.
If you are interested it is for girls born in 1995 or after, with try-outs at the Dundas Community Centre, March 14 and March 21 9:15-11:15

OPENING DAY

Saturday May 2, 2009 is Opening Day and we would like to encourage everybody to come for a BBQ.
It’s a great chance for everybody to get out after a long winter and meet their coaches and teammates.
This year T. Litzen’s will be coming down to the park to provide everybody with an opportunity to get any equipment they may need for the season.
It will be a good chance for everybody to get what they need.

TEAM PHOTOS

The DGSL will be providing team photos for the girls this year.

CALLING ALL VOLUNTEERS

The DGSL is volunteer run and we need your help.
In the past few years the league has experience a low level of those helping out, with our executive, coaching staffs and overall volunteers.
Unfortunately, it is the girls who are affected by this, resulting in them not getting the full and true experience out of the season.
It is for this reason that we ask that you make the effort to get involved.
The Executive is always looking for volunteers to help fill out its committee.
For more information or questions please feel free to approach members of the executive.
Parents are requested to fill out a volunteer form when registering their daughter.
Help is always welcomed especially at special events like BBQs, Banquets and the Parade Day.
So, pitch in by supporting or assisting your coaches.
