Gharakaag Orc

The orcs of Gharakaag are aggressive humanoids that raid, pillage and war with themselves and other creatures. They have a hatred of elves and dwarves that began centuries ago and often kill them on sight.

Orcs vary in appearance, but in general look like very primitive humanoids with gray skin, coarse hair with prominent lower canines that resemble a boar's tusks.
They have lupine ears, their eyes have a reddish tint and they wear vivid colors that most would consider unpleasant.

Orcs love simple pleasures such as feasting, drinking, boasting, singing, wrestling, drumming, and wild dancing. Refined enjoyments such as poetry, courtly dancing, and philosophy are lost on them. At the right sort of party, an orc is an asset. At the duchess’s grand ball, he’s a liability.

Physical Description:

Half-orcs stand between 6 and 7 feet tall and usually weigh between 200 and 300 pounds. An orc’s grayish pigmentation, sloping forehead, jutting jaw, prominent teeth, and coarse body hair make his lineage difficult to hide.

Orcs like scars. They regard battle scars as tokens of pride and ornamental scars as things of beauty. Some are marks of shame indicating servitude and identifying the orcs former owner, or marks of pride recounting conquests and high status.

Orc Traits:

+4 Strength, +2 Constitution, -2 Dexterity, -2 Intelligence, -2 Wisdom: The orcs of Gharakaag are both strong and hearty, but the great mass that adds to their strength also makes them somewhat clumsy. Orcs, being the savages that they are, also suffer from a slightly lowered intelligence. Orcs are also known for their extremely short tempers, which at times can force them to act before thinking, this has a negative effect of their Wisdom as well.

Size Medium:

As Medium creatures, orcs have no special bonuses or penalties due to their size.

Speed:

Base land speed is 30 feet.

Low-light Vision:

An orc can see twice as far as a human in starlight, moonlight, torchlight, and similar conditions of poor illumination. He retains the ability to distinguish color and detail under these conditions.

Weapon Familiarity:

Orcs may treat orcish double axes, dire flails, and all other orcish weapons as martial weapons, rather than exotic weapons.

Feats:

Orcs receive the feat Toughness for free. Also, an orc has the option to select 1 cultural trait from the list given above for orcs.

Outcast:

Given the orcs deserved reputation as savage monsters, most people would love the opportunity to exact a bit of revenge on a lone orc. As such, all orcs suffer from a –4 Outcast Rating, which is a modifier that applies to all social interactions with people who have a prejudice against orcs (just about everybody). Also, regardless of the orcs behavior, no initial reaction to the orc will ever be better than Unfriendly (see pg. 72 of the PHB). Although characters who take great pains to undo the prejudice surrounding them can diminish their stigma.

Native Language:

Ortuuk (Orcish)

Bonus Language:

Aldarian (Common)

Other Languages:

Dwarven, Giant, Gnoll, Goblin, and the various elven languages.

Orcs will, on occasion, try to learn the languages of their enemies and potential enemies.

Favored Class: Barbarian

A multi-class orc’s barbarian class does not count when determining whether he takes an experience point penalty (see XP for Multi-class Characters, page 60). Ferocity runs in a orc’s veins.
