The four oldest legal and social guidelines are as follows:
no Outside travel, no Tower entry, no access to the Isle of Songs, and no harm to the Guardian satellites.

These Prohibitions have been around for as long as Trinnacian culture has existed, which is roughly 2000 cycles.

As Trinnac has just produced space technology, though not of the power to travel beyond orbit, and no one has been able to enter the Towers, these two Prohibitions seem obvious.

The Isle of Songs is another matter. An island in the western hemisphere, the island produces some form of subsonic and EM interference, preventing any electronics from functioning, and causing severe nausea to living creatures. It, like the Towers, are a mystery left unsolved, although thrill-seekers, like the Outwalkers, like to set foot on the Isle as a initiation rite before testing space.

The last Prohibition regarding the Guardians, has never been questioned, as the satellite defense system, supposedly, protects Trinnac.

That Trinnac possesses a vibrant culture of art and literature. They have no military, only a police force. The citizens themselves are very friendly to outsiders, even though they never leave their planet. Government officials, however, treat aliens with suspicion.

In many circles, this is considered an "intellectual paradise" planet.

Their peace and success is mainly due to the network of defense satellites, easily the size of a small frieghter each, that prevent the Gahvid or other hostiles from entering their local space. They are controled by six massive control towers located in perfect geometry across the globe.

The Trinnacan's a the first to admit that the satellite system is beyond their technology. An older and more advanced race built this network eons ago, though for what major purpose, no one really knows, as this race died out ages before the current crop of Trinnacans managed to develop spaceflight.

Lore, philosophy, and mysticism proclaim Trinnac as the home planet of all civilized life in the universe, forever protected like a garden of Eden from the evils of the Gahvid.

Thusly, they do have a superiority complex.

The Guardians, as the Trinnacians call their satellite network, resemble an octohedron. The long points fire some form of energy beam that rivals the weapons of any capital ship.

Critics and intellectuals note, however, that the long points not only aim into space, but also back onto the planet. While the planet-points have never fired, some believe that the Guardians are not as benevolent as some think.

In either case, most races avoid Trinnac, as it is too much of a hot spot of Gahvid attacks. Those that do, realize that the government of Trinnac takes pains to prevent visitors from leaving...
