All characters start out as first level Humans. I'd like starting ages to be between 16 and 18. The PC's will basically start out as commoners. (Not the class, mind you... but the mindset.) At this point I am looking for a Divine spellcaster, (Either Cleric or Druid will do.)
All of the PC's live in the small village of Pinewood in the North East of Gontal. Pinewood is very small, boasting a population of about 250. It is a logging village that provides lumber for a large portion of the Known World. The people who live there are hearty and practical. Adventures are the last thing the average citizen thinks about.
All PC's must start out with at least two ranks in a craft or profession. Since none of the characters are starting out as "adventuring types," this is to illustrate a trade that your character is learning. Acceptable Crafts/Professions are: Bowmaking, Carpentry, Leatherworking, Trapmaking, Farmer, Guide, Herbalist, Lumberjack, Rancher, Stablehand, Tanner, and Woodcutter.
Use the point buy method of creating stats giving yourself 45 points. The PC's have the potential to be extraordinary people in the Known World... hence the higher than average points. Don't worry about weapons and equipment to begin with. We'll get to that. Although if you have a "Signature Weapon" in mind for you character let me know. I want you to create a full character, but understand that you may not be able to do everything you class allows you to do to begin with. Don't worry though, you'll be slinging spells and smashing Hobgoblins before you know it.
The most important thing is to write a good character background and E-Mail it too me. I want to know who you are, who your family is, where do you fit in amongst the villagers of Pinewood... ect. If you are interested in the Divine Spellcaster or Sorcerer, don't include discovering your powers in the background... we'll get to that in the first session. I will make suggestions on what you send me, and together we'll make your character concept fit in with my world concept. Also, you should include a brief description of how you want your character to develop. If you plan on multiclassing, or have a Prestige class in mind, let me know so I can gradually work such things into the story. Above all, have fun. We're going to tell a great story here.
