This week, for fun, we are playing internet Simon Cowell while asking you our readers to decide for yourselves what you think is the best version yet of that most memorable of stage standards "Try to Remember," from the musical "The Fantasticks." The one that came out on top for me personally -- though admittedly the call was a very close one -- was that by Harry Belafonte. But again as stated, you can decide for yourself from the below list (using amazon.com mp3 downloads as links to samples.) In fairness, although this list of performers is a relatively long one, there are still many other attempts at the song that might have been included. However, in the interest of manageability, I have, for the most part, limited the choices to earlier recordings -- so that if, on your own, you care to expand on what's presented here, by all means, of course feel free to do so.
