The Realm Of Zorro

Welcom to my Zorro page. This page was created to give credit to Disney Zorro series, starring Guy Willimans. I invite you to look around, there is a lot I have planned for this page. Oh yeah, you can also find other series (ex. New World) as well as movies in the Films Of The Fox section below. Enjoy : )

Zorro, which means "fox" in Spanish, starred Guy Williams as Don Diego de la Vega. The show ran for two seasons, airing on ABC TV Thursdays at 8pm from 1857-59. Now-I wasn't born untill 1986, so by the time I actually got into the show it was all old news, but a Zorro fan I am. Now days the show can be seen on Disney at 1 am seven days a week (note: time and date subject to change, check you'r local TV listings).

The story takes place in Los Angeles during the time of Spanish rule. Don Diego de la Vega (Williams), was summoned by his father (George J. Lewis), a wealthy land owner, to return home form his studies in Spain. Durring the voyage home Diego discovers that Los Angeles is under the command of Capitan Monastario (Britt Lomond) , an extremely crule man who uses his power for personal gain. Diego, realizing that he would not be able to defeat Monastarion and his troops alone, decides to take up the secret identity of Zorro. Bernardo (Gene Sheldon), Diegos faithful mute manservant, decided to help Diego with his plan. By pretending to be deaf (along with the fact he was mute) allowed Bernardo to listen in on conversations and report his findings back to Diego. (Bernardo also rescued Diego many times by dressing as Zorro so Diego could be seen in the same place as Zorro. This eliminated suspicions of Diego being the man behind the mask.) Thus the story of a legendary hero was born.
