Emilio Antonio Sanchez Mendez
April 9th 1969 to February 19th 2002
This page is dedicated to the Loving memory of our friend Emilio. He was
a former member of The Sugar Creek R/C Club and loved to fly. Emilio's
passing was a tragic shock to all that knew him. Our deepest sympathy,
prayers and loving support goes out to his family. Emilio leaves behind his
wife Brenda, their son Emilio Jr. and their new unborn baby. I had the honor
of attending his beautiful funeral service in his native land Puerto Rico.
It meant so much to be able to say my final goodbyes to a dear friend.
Anyone who's had the pleasure of knowing Emilio would understand what I
mean. One of his dreams was to become a good R/C pilot so he could train
and fly with his son. Emilio gave me these pictures to add to the website.
He was so proud of this plane. It was a Goldberg Extra 300 with a Super
Tiger 91. Emilio started flight training with Dave Thomas one of our club
instructors and fun fly coordinator. Both of them hit it off right away.
They both lived and breathed airplanes. I remember watching Dennis Thompson
our clubs President helping Emilio fly his Tiger Two one Sunday last
season. Emilio actually became a good R/C Pilot. I just wish he was here,
to live out the rest of his dreams and to teach his son to fly. Emilio we
wish you "Low Winds and Soft Landings." Good Bye My
Friend.
A Fund has been set up for Emilio's wife Brenda and his
children if you are interested in helping please contact
