Dragonball Z RPG: Equipment
I have compiled the list of what I am willing to allow for gear in my DBZ RPG. It is still under construction.
Humans: Humans have a slightly more advanced tech base than we do, today. They have mastered encapsulation, as well as hover technology.
Saiyans: Saiyans have space travel, and advanced sensor equipment. They wasted little time developing weapons, seeing as they ARE weapons. They can also generate moon silhouettes, thus allowing for controlled shifts into their Oozaru forms.
Half-Saiyans: They have access to what their families do.
Nameks: Nameks have little in the way of technology. They can materialize some things, and live a simple lifestyle.
Mutants: Various nasty, inferior junk.
Icicans: Very advanced stuff. Space travel.
Greater Androids: They ARE technology, although their design limits how much additional technology they can use. They can, of course, use anything a regular human can.
Lesser Androids: They can make use of much more, since they are more purely machine. Often armor and ranged weapons.
Buus: Absolutely none, as they aren't truly a race unto themselves. They are more liek a tool themselves.
EQUIPMENT
Technology is an amazing thing, even in a world populated by the races of DragonBall Z.
- Capsule: Almost anything can be found in a capsule, from a wardrobe of clothes, to a hover bike, even a capsule house. Obviously, the price of the capsule is proportionalte to its contents, and only the specific capsule that something came in can contain it again.
- Scouter:A rather ingenious invention, brought to Earth by the Saiyans, and made available to its people by CapsuleCorp. A little over a century ago, the brains at CapsuleCorp. managed to recreate a scouter, and, while not quite as good as a genuine Saiyan-made one, it still does its job efficiently. A scouter can detect power signals, and most have a planetary range, so they can sense targets anywhere on a world. They can also gauge a character's current Power Level; how much energy they are emitting. It should be noted that extreme power readings, usually anything over a million killi, will short out a scouter.
VEHICLES
Technology is an amazing thing, even in a world populated by the races of DragonBall Z.
- Saiyan Space Pod: A small, one-man orb, these ships can fly through space, either piloted by their passenger, or under their own power, allowing their occupant to sleep over long voyages. They possess no armaments. These are available through CapsuleCorp., or, more rarely, the Saiyans.
- Hover Bike: While almost anyone CAN learn to fly, the overwhelming majority of people never learn even this elementary trick. So, for those people who need to get around, there are hoverbikes and hovercars.
RELICS
Relics contain items that are either rare, or unique. Often, these items cannot be bought, and can only be found in one place.
- Dragon Balls: A blessing to the Earth by the Guardian, the Dragon Balls are seven mystical orbs that, when brought together, can allow someone to summon the Eternal Dragon (in this case, Shenron). The Dragon Balls do have some limitations, but these are often considered paltry when compared to the possible benefits: returning someone to life, incredible power, rulership of the world, or even immortality.
- Sensu Beans: Sensu beans are a kind of legume that only grow on Earrth, and, more specifically, only at the top of Korin's Tower, just below the Guardian's Lookout. These beans are considered, by those familiar with them, to be worth more than gold. They cannot be synthesized, will not grow anywhere else, and only one can benefit an individual ina given day. However, they return a person to the pinnacle of their current power, a blessing indeed when a fight is going long and poorly. These beans are, of course, not for sale, and only those who are found worthy ever seem to find them in their possession.
- Potara Earrings: These mystical objects are fusion earrings, and they come in two types: the rare "corrupted" earrings, and the even more rare true Potaras. Corrupted fusion earrings are called thus because, for some strange reason, they do not create a permanent fusion, as true Potaras do. Instead, they create a fusion that lasts for only about an hour. It is still longer than the fusion created by the fuion dance, and purer, but if it cuts out at an important time, you are still left in trouble. True Potaras, on the other hand, create a permanent fusion; a union between two beings that will never break. Only the Kais, and maybe the most powerful Sorcerers, can create these items, and Sorcerers can only hope to forge "corrupted" ones, when at the pinnacle of power. Note that, in the show, all Potaras are "pure", but I don't necessarily want permanently fused players, and if the magic of Buu couldbreak them apart, so could other magics, assumedly.
