Races of the Dragonball Z RPG

I have compiled the list of what I am willing to allow for races in my DBZ RPG.

Humans: Humans are exactly what one might suspect. They require no further description. Think you. Humans two great benefits are their supreme flexibility and that the world most games take place on blongs to them.

Saiyans: Thought extinct, these Saiyans are the survivors of a banished group, who later came to Earth, seeking great Saiyan heroes to lead them to honor. It should be noted that, thogh most Saiyans alive today can Oozaru, not a single one has demonstrated the ability to become a Super Saiyan. Saiyans benefit from their increased XP gain, and from advanced technology.

Half-Saiyans: Saiyans are not found on Earth in large numbers, and Saiyan females have never been prevalent. Even Saiyans are programmed to want to reproduce, however, and some do "reduce" themselves to bedding with human females. These shamed Saiyans often disappear just as quickly, and Saiyans are notoriously discriminatory against their bastard half-breeds. On the other hand, Half-Saiyans receive many benefits from their Saiyan parents, and can also hope to live a seemingly better life. No Half-Saiyan has yet demonstrated the ability to become a Super-Saiyan. This is probably for the best, as any full Saiyan on Earth would likely try to destroy such an upstart half-breed.

Nameks: Though most Nameks do remain on their own distant world, some few have come to Earth, either on pilgrimages, or to live permanently. Nameks possess a variety of special abilities, chief among them regeneration.

Mutants: This is a broad category for other aliens that I have not mentioned. Many of them possess weird abilities, and most don't look very human.

Icicans: Though not as powerful as their notorious legends, the race of which Freiza, Cooler, and King Cold are members is still a race in this universe. Most take up ocupations similar to those of the aforementioned, holding sway over galaxies, tormenting people, and employing many mutants and lackeys. Their most remarkable abilities are their ability to transform into variant forms, and the marked change in their personal power and abilities when done. Their weaknesses include the expense of their transformations, the time required, and their sheer arrogance.

Greater Androids: A much more streamlined and attractive model then their lesser counterparts, Greater Androids are machines that look perfectly human. They do not possess bulky armor plates, massive limbs, or weaponry implants. Also, they are noticeably more fragile, do to their organic-tech construction. They are still quite strong, incredibly fast, and intelligent, possessing of full cognitive abilities and emotion. Greater Androids still have explosive devices implanted in their bodies, as well as a command line that allows their creator to manage their activities.

Lesser Androids: Markedly less intelligent or fast, Lesser model Androids win out in sheer power, durability, and firepower. They often have heavy plates, built-in cannons, and strength-enhancers able to lift small buildings. They also possess explosive charges, and command codes, in order to assure obedience.

Buus: Rarer than even Icicans, Buus are the creations of Sorcerers. Only the best Sorcerers are able to create them, and this generation's Buus are not the impressive, world-demolishing creature from a century prior...yet. Buus are initially dull-witted, weak, eating machines. The problem is that they are durable, and their diet is not what anyone hopes. Like their predecessor, Buus eat other life-forms, predominantly. As they consume more people, they begin to accumulate more intelligence, power, and abilities. Inevitably, if allowed to progress far enough, they become more powerful than the Sorcerer who created them can manage, and he/she must bottle them up, or find a way to destroy them. Buus regenerate faster than Nameks, and they can consume others, gaining personality, will, intelligence, and power.

TEMPLATES

Sorcerers: Sorcerers are those who make their way through intellect, rather than brute strength. Where others study martial arts kata, Sorcerers study arcane librams and dark tomes of lore. Those who become skilled enough can duplicate many other abilities of other beings, and some of the most powerful can even CREATE life. Most of these play Devil's Dealer, and use their power to enhance others. These puppets are known as Majins (see below). Others create servants, such as Buus, and other, lesser creatures. Few Sorcerers, however, are known to be benevolent, and in their case, the mantra "absolute power corrupts absolutely" was rarely more true. Most Sorcerers are either weak mutants or Humans. The other races either don't have the proper discipline to excel at book arts, or view such trickery as weak, compared to their own powers.

Majins: A Majin is the puppet of a Sorcerer, made better by a promise to do service. In exchange for doing as their benefactor commands, a Majin becomes immensley more powerful, and some even become damn-near unstoppable. Injuries that would kill a normal man, or even one so enhanced, fail to kill a Majin, because their Sorcerer-master uses his magic to alter that fact. In DBZ, a Majin named Spopovitch had his head completely twisted around, with a very audible snapping sound, and after lying motionless for several moments, he proceeded to rise to his feet, grinning, and then reset his neck. He then proceeded to fight on. The drawbacks to this change are many. A Majin finds it difficult to disobey their master. Should they succeed, the same effect that allows their master's spells to reach them over distances will allow fatal spells to reach them, of which their is no way to dodge. Should the Sorcerer die, the powers fade away. The Sorcerer can also choose to revoke the power at will. Still, the staggering boost n physical ability, plus the tripling of their power, is enough to convince many humans, and even a few Saiyans, to become servants of the arcane. Buus cannot be majined, as they already mostly are. This also allows for the inevitable escape of control Buus are known for.

Kaeru: The Kaeru, or "the Returned" are a small few who have died, but are allowed to return to Earth for short periods, either to perform a deed, or as a further reward for selfless living. Kaeru return as they were in life, and are most notable due to the halo that floats above their head. They are considerably more powerful then when they were alive, and can absorb considerably more damage, but the drawbacks are also severe. Kaeru cannot remain on Earth indefinately. They are either limited by time or by energy. If by time, then they must return to Otherworld, after a certain duration, and if by energy, they do not recharge their power pools. When the pool reaches zero, then they must return beyond. The other siginificant drawback is that if they should die in this form, NOTHING can return them to existence. The living die, but the dead cease to exist. Even the Dargon Balls cannot revive someone killed again, while they are dead. In Otherworld, however, Kaeru exist indefinatley, and this is the reward most people of great worth receive when they die; the ability to keep their bodies, and excel in those things they loved in life.

OTHER RACES
Of course, there are some other beings and races in DBZ who are not mentioned above. This is because they are not suitable as player characters.

Kai: The Kais watch over the Universe, and attempt to maintain some degree of peace and harmony. They are immortal beings of great personal power. There are currently six Kais in the universe. Four are simply Kais. These beings each watch over a quadrant of the galaxy. Above them is the Grand Kai. This figure seems to do little in the grand scheme of things, but his primary role seems to involve managing the segment of Otherworld where the best and greatest of the galaxy's deceased go. His only superior is a mysterious figure, known as the Supreme Kai. He is technically the supreme ruler of our universe, excluduing the powerful deity who created everything.

Demons: Demons come from another dimension, parallel to this one, and are powerful beings. They are all either incredibly powerful or incredibly fast, possibly both in the worst of cases, and all possess huge excesses of power. To make things worse, they are immortal, and cannot be destroyed. They can, however, be banished to their home realm, and their stays here are often temporary. Demons most often arrive on Earth at the behest of a Sorcerer, who either wants some favor, a warrior, or knowledge.

HISTORY
It is 100 years since Goku, savior of Earth, and the greatest warrior in existance, was elevated to the level of Kami, and ascended above with Shenron, the Eternal Dragon. In that time, many things have happened on Earth. The greatest heroes of the age have either passed on, or passed into self-enforced isolation, allowing the universe to think they are gone. Approximately 24 years ago, the Earth was surprised by an invasion. A group of banished Saiyans had come to Earth, seeking the legends of Kakarot and Vegeta, the greatest of all Saiyans. When they arrived, only to discover that the legends had already perished, they decidied that Earth was a world ripe for plunder. The people of Earth did all in their power to save themselves, but the Saiyans were too powerful. On the eve of their vctory, however, the Saiyans received a visitor. A spirit from beyond, Goku, came and told them to stop this assault, and that they should live in peace. Should they fail to comply, another spirit, Vegeta, added, they would all be destroyed. The Humans and Saiyans came to a strained truce that has lasted till now. Other beings have come to Earth over the years as well, both good and ill. It is into this world that the next generation has been born. What they will come to do in it, remains to be seen.

IMPORTANT FACTS
1. There are still Dragon Balls. The Guardian of the Earth, Dende, has created a new set, so that they are available if the Earth is ever truly in need. The existence of them, however, has remained mostly a secret. Only one man, other than Dende, has successfully used them, and he wished for immortality. He is now a villain, slowly building up his power, in an attempt to conquer Earth.
2. Three important characters still live from the time of the series. Piccolo remains up on the Lookout, with Dende, as the self-appointed final guardian of Earth. Should the need truly arise, he can defend it. This was brought about be Dende, who, after being unable to save the Earth from the Saiyans himself, created the Dragon Balls, and tested their power by reviving a hero who could. Another is Pan. Now an old woman, her Saiyan blood has allowed her to live to an older age than is normal for humans. Still, she is now bent with age, and wrinkled. She is among the only people left on Earth who know a handful of powerful techniques, chief among them, the Kamehema Wave. Seeing as Master Rochi is an immortal, he, too, might still be around somewhere, but he is no longer to be found on his island, and has also gone into hiding.
3. As stated above, no Saiyan or Half-Saiyan on Earth today can yet become a Super-Saiyan.
4. The Earth at this time still possesses no moon, though the Saiyans still possess a handful of their lunar generators.
5. More for me, stones of health used to fuel abilities count as double.

TECHNIQUES
Many characters have specific attacks that they are famous for, and some of these make good examples of how to build your own energy blasts, and other such attacks. Note that some of these cannot be taken by characters identically (the Kamehameha Wave, for example, is unique, and only two living people today know it.
