Considered to be the greatest of demon slayers, Coteaz's name is known and feared by all denizens of the Nine Hells and the Abyss. Once a mighty paladin committed to the destruction of all fiends, Coteaz allowed his zeal and desire to slay demons and devils get the better of him. Though he lost some of his paladinic powers, he is still a powerful holy force to be reckoned with, and not to be trifled with. Even the Dark Eight and the Archfiends fear Coteaz. For though he is only mortal, they know that he also posssesses the Book of Names, and that it, in addition to the other magic stuff at Coteaz's call, can be their undoing. Though no longer a paladin, Coteaz's fanatacism has not lessened, and only rarely does he leave the entirety of the Lower Planes, to rest and restock supplies. This is a man who has no fear of fighting fiends on their own home turf.

An imposing sight indeed, Coteaz is terrifying to behold, as far as fiends are concerned. He is large, well-muscled, and somewhat grizzled in appearance. He has spent a great deal of time in the Abyss and the Nine Hells, and it shows a bit. He has short, somewhat matted black hair, blue eyes that almost seem to glow with fanatical zeal, and heavy, somewhat marred armor. He carries with him at all times his famous warhammer and bastard sword, Order and Justice, and an assortment of other magical items that allow him to single-handedly go toe-to-toe with a balor or pit fiend and win.
