Adventures- Most armsmen see adventures, military service, raids, and dangerous missions as their job. Some have patrons or commanders who pay them regularly, and others live like prospectors, taking big risks in hopes of the big haul.
Characteristics- Of all classes, armsmen have the best all-around physical fighting capabilities. Armsmen are familiar with all basic weapons and armors, and typically develop particular specialties of thier own, such as leaning to disarm opponents, fighting with two weapons, and using weapons to trip opponents. These are only a few of the possibilites.
Origins- Armsmen are totally ubiquitous. They can be found anywhere there's a need for someone who knows how to fight. Most have had formal training in a noble's standing army, or at least have served in the local militia. Some have trained in formal academies. Some are self-taught. An armsman may have taken up the sword to escape the live of a farm worker, or the armsman may be following a proud family tradition.
Typical Background- Armsmen can have any backgroud (though Ogier armsmen are about as rare as they come). Armsmen come from all walks of life, from the harsh Borderlands, the Queens's army of Andor, and any one of the wars between the Domani and Tarboners, The Tairens and Illianers, or Cairheinin and Aiel.
Examples of Armsmen from the books: Gareth Bryne, Pedron Nyall, Galadedrid Damodred, Uno.
