Independent Republic of West Florida- 1811
In 1810, colonist to control of their area east to of the Mississippi River. It was part of Spain is West Florida Territory. That same year, is the republic joined the United States as part of the Louisiana Territory. The area is still referred to as the Florida Parishes. The independent Republic of West Florida flag is known as the "Bonnie Blue"
