ABOUT US

Daniel D. Willoughby is the founder and president of D&N Scientific. Dan has an extensive background in spectroscopy, starting with his work as a Service Engineer at Perkin Elmer Corporation directly following his honorable discharge from the US Marine Corps. While in the Marines, Dan was extensively trained in electronics. At Perkin Elmer, Dan Specialized in AA (atomic absorption), ICP (inductively coupled plasma), UV/VIS, IR and graphite furnace, and was one of the first PE service engineers to be promoted to Service Specialist. With over 30 years of experience in spectroscopy, including UV, fluorescence and NIR, Dan is well equipped to assist you with your spectroscopy needs.

Dan has been active in the community, first as a volunteer/mentor for Big Brothers, Big Sisters, followed by nearly ten years in the US Naval Sea Cadet Corps and he was the Commanding Officer of the Columbus branch for three years. While in the Sea Cadets he was promoted to Warrant Officer and achieved the rank of Lieutenant. D&N Scientific and Rob Richter ran a Forensics Analysis course, utilizing Ocean Optics, Inc spectroscopy equipment, at the Ohio Sea Cadet summer camp.
