SITTING ON MY BED
I remember being young
The way you watched me
So solemnly and lovingly
Sitting on my bed.
Watching as I breathed
In deep-sleep slumber
Comforted by your stare
By the presence of your care.
And when I got upset
Or very, very scared,
You were always there
Curled within my arms.
So fragile now,
So old and dirty,
Left in times ago
Left with the age of young.
But still you stare
Sitting on my bed
So solemnly and lovingly
Comforting with your care.
