Chapter 6~Party Time!

When the guys finally came home from surfing, they heard the water in the shower running. Callie was getting ready. They sat around chatting in the living room waiting for her to get out so they could fight over the bathroom. She came out in a terry-cloth robe, toweling her hair dry.

“Guys, the hotel called while you were out. Your rooms aren’t gonna be ready for another three days. Looks like you’re stuck with us!” That was fine with her, and she knew that it wasn’t a bother to Elijah, these were his best friends.

“Woohoo!!! Party at ‘Lij’s house!!” Dom jumped up, yelling all the way down the hallway. He was the first to reach the bathroom.

“But-“ Callie began to lay down the rules. They had to let her have peace and quiet when she wanted to study. They were not, under any circumstances, to touch her blanket, and they had to have her permission to drink Cherry Coke, unless they went out and bought it themselves. Her bubble baths were sacred, if you wanted to talk to her, you had to let your presence be known so she could cover up or you had to wait until she was good and ready to talk to you. Other than that, have fun, yell, scream, eat lots of junk food, and be happy! She walked back into her room to finish getting ready.

Finally, she was done and ready to leave the haven of her room. She had paired the blue top with a pair of tight, low-riding black pants that zipped up in the back and had slits in each of the legs halfway up her calves. She had curled the bottom half of her hair into individual banana curls and swept it up into a mass of blonde curls at the back of her head. Normally she detested glitter, but she thought that a little wouldn’t hurt, and it would go nicely with the top. She shook a little glitter into all the curls. Her makeup was light and accented her already individual features. She slipped on a pair of sandals that had a 4 ½ inch heel and brown straps all over the top of the foot, they were backless. All of her shoes had at least a 3 ½ inch heel, a constant attempt to be taller she jokingly told everyone. She walked down the hallway to find Elijah and some girl she didn’t know sitting on the couch. Her eyes flashed and she felt a pang of – was it jealousy? No, of course not. She didn’t think of him that way…..

“You look…uh..wow.” Elijah had never seen her dressed up before. She didn’t get out very much. She just arched an eyebrow, sighed, turned her head to the side and said, “I know.”

She turned back to him and flashed a grin. “Thanks.”

“This is Elizabeth, she’s Dom’s date.” He said this without ever taking his eyes away from Callie. A wave of what was definitely relief washed over Calissa.

“Hi Elizabeth! I’m Callie” She thought to herself, I never thought I’d see the day when it took a guy longer to get dressed than me. “Where are Billy and Orlando?” She didn’t see them anywhere in the apartment.

“Oh, they were eager to party. They already left. Billy was muttering something about you being the designated driver, but I told him that you were going to celebrate, and since we can’t expect any of the guys not drink, I sent them off in a cab.” Dom finally made his entrance. He looked great, but nothing that would have taken him that long. Oh well, they didn’t have time to ponder the mysterious Dominic Monaghan, as the eager Elijah Wood was ushering them out the door and into a cab. When they finally reached the club and stepped out, the musician in Callie was immediately activated. She had been playing instruments since she was in the fourth grade and when the beat hit her ears her body started moving. She couldn’t help it, her hips swayed with the music. As soon as they made it inside, Billy assaulted them and pulled them to the table that he and Orlando had saved. Orlando was nowhere to be seen. Callie made her way to the bar to see if she could get a drink. As soon as she got it, she felt an arm snake it’s way around her waist. She turned, drink in hand, expecting to see Elijah’s smiling face. Instead she was met with one of the ugliest shirts she had ever seen in her life. She looked up to see Orlando’s smiling face.

“Like you said earlier this morning, we got off on the wrong foot. Can I make it up to you with a dance perhaps?” She smiled mischievously. “Alright, I accept” They made their way to the middle of the dance floor. His hand rested on her hips and her arms, which were in the air for a while, fell behind his neck. He pulled her closer until she could feel his warm breath on her neck.

Elijah watched them from the table. His eyes were flashing and Billy and Dom didn’t miss the fact that he wasn’t talking much. He made his way to the dance floor and pulled Calissa away from Orlando. She began to protest, but he pulled her back to the table. He spent the rest of the night at the table with her, or close by her side. By the end of the night, all five of them were completely drunk. At 1 am they made it out the door, to a cab, and back to the apartment. They weren’t very tired, the adrenaline still pumping from the club, so they decided to play a game…
