I Once Had A Dream
I once had a dream.
About hitting a homerun,
The only thing I didn't know.
Is that one-day it would come.
I came up to the plate,
Runners on second and third,
I stared down the pitcher,
This moment was mine.
He then took the sign,
Pitched like it was a crime,
I swung the bat hard,
Wondering could it be mine.
Rounding first base,
I saw the runner give chase,
I watched the ball go,
As if it went into outer space.
The unthinkable had happened,
I had hit a homerun,
The only thing left to do,
Was to step on home.
I hit home plate.
Got mobbed like it was hate,
No one was going to take this from me,
The moment was here to stay.
