Wicca has many aspects. to help us understand these more we can divide each aspect into 5 parts. These elements are also known as "Elements of the Wise" these elements are represented in a 5 pointed star common to witches known as a pentacle. Do not be mistaken. Only a pentacle upside down represents evil and is often worn by Satanists. A pentagram the right way up is often worn by the witch and represents the perfect human being.

AIR -----*

Air is associated with the mind. It is an intellectual element that represents knowledge, ideas dreams and wishes of all sorts. Air is a masculine element and will help us in spells for traveling, instructions, finding lost items and freedom. The air element is often represented on alters and it magik as incense sticks filling the air with sweet smelling scents that calm our minds.

WATER -----*

Water is the element for love that brings us together in unity. It binds us to others and the things around us. It is also the element of emotions. Water is a feminine element and will help us in spells and rituals for friendship, marriage, happiness, fertility, healing, pleasure, and psychic abilities. Water is often represented as water in its natural form. Often spring water is used as much bottled water today is pumped with chemicals.

FIRE -----*

Fire is the element for change and passion. Its creative, motivated and sensual. It drives us into change. Fire is a masculine element and will help us with spells for healing, purification, sex, breaking bad habits or destroying illness and disease. Fire is a leading element and shows leadership among others. To represent fire on the alter we usually use a candle of flame of some sort.

EARTH-----*

Earth is the element for stability and the body. It helps us in our physical development and helps us prosper. Earth is a feminine element and is useful for spells for prosperity, business, fertility and stability. Earth is the physical earth we live in.  To represent earth on an alter we use rocks, crystals or soil .

SPIRIT/ AETHER-----*

Some people forget about Aether as an element. But it is one of the most important elements we have. It links us to the divine. It is the element of Mystery or Mysticism. Aether is always around us. Its also in us deep in our lives.
