The story of Rosiel's decent into madness is long
and complex. In the OAV we see Rosiel only after he is risen
and is already going insane. In the manga the story
is longer. When Alexiel and Rosiel were born, Rosiel was little
more than a hunk of meat. Alexiel begged God to give her brother a life
of his own. God did so giving Rosiel beauty equal to Alexiels'. In return God demanded
Alexiel harden her heart towards her brother. She did so much to Rosiel's despair.
Instead of growing old Rosiel grows steadily younger. Knowing his sister refuses to
love him and the knowledge of what his body really looks like
drives him slowly insane. During the rebellion Alexiel leads against
Heaven she and Rosiel face each other on the battlefeild. Rosiel's forces have vanquished Alexiel's but
before she is captured she manages to seal her brother in the Earth with
with a powerful spell.
